The Gunnison River starts at the confluence of Taylor and East River. It flows west through Gunnison, Blue Mesa Reservoir, then Black Canyon which is one of the longest, narrowest, and deepest gorges on earth. It continues northwest through the Gunnison Gorge, then the town of Delta and eventually spills into the Colorado RIver in Grand Junction.
